Tempur-Pedic Mattress

BUY AT: Relax the Back

tempurpedic.jpgIn the past I’ve tried Serta’s and Simmons only to be dissapointed with them after a few years (the individual mattress coils don’t work very well if you move a lot). I had wanted a Four Seasons bed but after ringing them they told me they were no longer making the ones I loved and the new models wouldn’t be available for 8 weeks. SInce I’d been sleeping on an aero bed for over a month, a real bed was needed asap.

Bed shopping is worse than car shopping; all the sellers were sleezy, wheeling and dealing and just generally icky. A trip to the Relax the Back store, however, was different. There the sales person explained the bed, it’s warrenty (25 years) and it’s return policy (90 days without stocking fee!). And if you had a medical reason, you could even get 10% off.

After several months of sleeping on it, I can tell you it’s the best bed I’ve ever slept on - and I’ve slept on amazing beds. I almost always fall asleep instantly, cannot feel the boy on the other side and I sleep sounder and wake up less stiff than I ever did. I so highly recommend this bed.

Shabby Chic Euro Pillows

BUY AT: Shabby Chic

ShabbyChicEuro.jpgBig, square, lovely Euro Pillows are perfect for reading in bed, sitting on the floor, or making an ordinary bed set look smashing. But they can often be hard to find and expensive yet. So go to your nearest Shabby Chic store (the flagship store on Montana Ave in LA if you can!).

For $26, these Euro pillow are simply the best. So comfortable and perfect they’ll make it hard to get out of bed. Especially if you enclose them in one of her lovely poplin patterned pillowcases. I’m obsessed with her prints and linens (not the Target ones - the original line at her stores).

Bedding should be practical and indulgent and the Shabby Chic line and pillows are simply just that!

Simplehuman Dishrack

BUY AT: simplehuman

simplehuman.jpgThere is neither a dishwasher nor amble counter space in my kitchen so I needed a dishrack that would fit everything (glasses, knives, cutlery, pots, pans and dishes), not take up a lot of room, drain into the sink and look stylish. Oh, and last.

With a 5 year warrenty, this sleek SimpleHuman dishrack does the trick. It works amazingly well with it’s ergonomic design and great use of space. Almost makes washing up fun.

Huggable Hangers

BUY AT: HSN.com

hangers.jpgI have a very tiny closet. Very tiny. So every little centimetre counts. The big, chunky plastic hangers from other stores always tangled, took up space and had my delicate clothes slipping off. Call in Huggable Hangers!

They really do hug your clothes so that they don’t slip off, they do not tangle with other hangers and the best part? They really do give you more room. After hanging everything on these, my closet went down by about a third.

Bacout

BUY AT: Drugstore.com & Whole Foods

bacout.jpgIf you have a pet or always manage to get dirt on white clothes, this is a great product for you. Totally biodegradable, this organic stain remover really removes tough spots you never thought would come out.

I’ve used it on carpets, on clothes (including delicates), and furniture and it’s never wrecked any of them. Don’t put chemicals on your carpet or clothes, use this Natural Enzyme product instead.

Queen Size Flannel Sheet Set by Eddie Bauer Home

My home is sparse and simple but the one area I indulge in is in the bed - and for good reason. I adore sleeping, reading and cuddling in bed. There is nothing I fancy more. With winter coming, the Egyptian Cotton Sheets had to go and a new set of flannels came in. These sheets are beyond soft - you lie in them and instantly you have no worries. They’re soothing, comforting and hug you in all the right spots. The only problem with them is trying to get out of bed in the morning - especially a cold one.
