Chocolove

April 30th, 2006 — 8:30pm

BUY AT: Chocolove & Whole Foods

chocolove.jpgI can’t believe it’s taken me three years to mention this as it’s my absolute favourite chocolate of all time (well, that I can get in America). Made in Belgium, this chocolate is the real deal. My favourite? Gingerlove with bits of crystalised ginger. Not a fan of that flavour? No worries – try it with real raspberries or oranges. And if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on the vintage flavours, do. It’s incredible!

So much iron, fiber, antioxidants and all around yummyness, this is the only chocolate one should eat (and eat often). Found at Whole Foods and Wild Oats it’s something I cannot be without. I’m considering buying it buy the box.

And to top off the love, each bar comes wrapped in a poem. Healthy, lovely, and charming, too. Perfect for a gift, or for a pick me up, or just because.

Canon i9900 Photo Printer

April 14th, 2006 — 11:21am

Buy at: Amazon.com

canon.jpgLast fall, exactly one day after my warranty expired, my half-performing Epson Printer died. I’d always had issues with it and was fed up, so I resisted buying a printer for months.

I kept hearing fantastic things about Canon Printers from digital artists and since a lot of my work requires me to print out great images and photographs, I kept looking into them. After seeing rave reviews all over for the Canon i9900 (especially for miffed ex-Epson users), I took the plunge and bought it.

It delivers borderless 8X10 prints which for me, is important. It also does it quickly and easily. 4X6 prints look better than those you get printed from a camera shop. Regular text is amazing sharp and clear but what I love most is how quiet and stable this printer is whilst printing – no shaking the table or desk.

Needless to say, I’m in love. It works well with the mac, it easily takes paper, the colours are amazing and the cost of ink is good. Here’s to happy printing.

Kinky Boots Soundtrack

April 13th, 2006 — 2:36am

Buy at: Amazon.com

When I went to the screening I was fully prepared to not like this moving. When I first saw the previews I thought, “not another one of those movies”. However, I enjoyed it and even took something away from it but what really got me was the music.

Chiwetel Ejiofor’s performance as Lola is incredible but the singing/performances even better. But it’s not just his talents that appear on this CD; Nina Simone, David Bowie & James Brown tracks make this an album that will have you shakin’ your arse in no time.

The Automatic Millionaire Homeowner Book

April 4th, 2006 — 1:30am

Buy at: Amazon

automaticmillionaire.jpgI decided a few months ago that within the year I’d buy my first home. Despite being around real estate and even working in it a little, I wasn’t too sure what I really had to do to get a home. The day after I declared I was going to get a home, my bank sent me info on a David Bach seminar on home buying and sent this free book. Love. It.

It’s clear, concise, easy to read and understand on a basic level. It tells you all the steps to getting a home, what you need to do, all about mortgages, realtors and on and on and on. It’s given me a tonne of confidence whilst looking for my home and seriously made home buying totally possible for me.

Curious George Soundtrack

April 1st, 2006 — 2:02am

Buy at Amazon

curiousgeorge.jpgThere’s nothing on earth like getting something you didn’t know you needed which is how I feel about this CD. Sent to me by my best-friend, it came when I needed some music to keep me going that was upbeat without being upbeat.

Charming, positive, catchy, sweet and fun is what this CD is. Think it’s just for kids? Then think again. Better yet, listen to the single “Upside Down” which will make anyone feel good without feeling sappy.
