Although most women I know have read this classic several times by now, it’s taken me awhile to discover Sylvia Plath. I was drawn to this book because it’s based partly on Plath’s life as an editor and writer and I wanted to see how I could relate to it. Boy could I ever; not so much for being a writer, but for being a girl who notices things, questions things and wonders. The writing is so natural, the first person narrative sounds as though it was your friend talking and not some editor who had munched up words and thrown in some fancy ones. This is a fantastic book, which makes me know want to read Wintering.
